Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how GetThePrice ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit our marketing site, use our application, or interact with our integrations. It is meant to align with how the product is built today; see also our Data practices page for a concise technical overview.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile: When you sign up or sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes identifiers such as email address, name, and session data. We store a corresponding user record in our database to provision workspaces and enforce access.
Billing: If you subscribe, Stripe processes payment method and subscription status. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and subscription status in our database to control product access.
Store and catalog data: If you connect Shopify, we store your shop domain, encrypted access tokens, and product/variant data synced from Shopify to power pricing workflows.
Workspace and product content: Data you enter or generate in the app (e.g. competitor URLs, price suggestions, demand signals, job metadata) is stored in our database and associated with your workspace.
Diagnostics: We may collect error reports and performance data through Sentry when configured, and structured server logs that can include a request correlation id and non-sensitive context to operate and secure the Service.
Landing interactions: Marketing CTA clicks are logged to the browser console and a local custom event for basic funnel debugging; we do not use a third-party advertising pixel for that today.

2. How we use information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
To authenticate users, enforce workspace access, and process subscriptions.
To operate integrations (Shopify catalog sync and price pushes, Stripe webhooks for billing state, Clerk webhooks for user provisioning).
To detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

We use service providers who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements:

Clerk — authentication (privacy).
Stripe — payments and billing (privacy).
Shopify — connected store data and Admin API (privacy).
Sentry — error monitoring when enabled (privacy).
Hosting — our application and database run on infrastructure providers (e.g. Vercel and your configured PostgreSQL host); they may process request metadata as part of hosting.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

4. Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Some telemetry rows (e.g. scheduled job summaries) may be retained for operational monitoring. You may request deletion of your account subject to legal and contractual retention limits.

5. Your choices and rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@gettheprice.com. You may also manage subscription and payment methods through the Stripe Customer Portal where available in the app.

6. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses offered by our vendors.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice if required by law.
